We were asked to write a bio...but we thought we’d tell you a short story instead. So grab a blanket and a warm cup o’ joe (or cocoa, we understand) and get comfy. It’s going to be an adventure!

Once upon a time there was a young lass named Annika. She was lonesome, spending most of her days inside her castle tower. Her days were consumed with playing guitar, knitting, cooking, and wondering –basically--“When will my life begin?”

Just across town there lived another lass, known by many as simply “Stephanie”. She was older, much wiser, but ditzy and bit well, hmm…vague. Every morning was just the same since the morning that she came to that poor, provincial town.

One evening, while out for a stroll just around the riverbend, the two young maidens overheard an announcement from the town crier. “Hear ye, hear ye! It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight to Catholic Beer Club. We invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair, as the taproom proudly presents your drinks! Be there or be square!”

Annika looked at Stephanie. Stephanie looked at Annika. They wondered, “Who is this girl I see, staring straight back at me?” Nevertheless, at the same time, almost as if prompted by the Holy Spirit, they shrugged their shoulders and said, “Hakuna Matata” (which means “no worries”). Together they decided they must NOT be square. They would be there.

And it was there, at CBC, that at last they saw the light. It was like a fog had lifted! They realized that we are all connected to each other; in a circle, in a hoop that never ends.

From that point on they knew: even if the road looked rough ahead and they were miles and miles from their nice, warm beds…they had a friend in each other.

Honestly, we could go on and on…we could explain every Catholic phenomenon. But we won’t; we’ll let the Young Adult Catholic Community here in KC do the talking. So come join us! Make some new friends! We look forward to meeting you!

(& in case you were wondering: yes, we really are this obnoxiously obsessed with Disney…)

See you at CBC in KC! =]
